Women’s Ministry Meeting

There will be a Women’s Ministry meeting will be on Tuesday, October 13th at 7:00 pm at the church. We will begin making pillowcase dresses for the Finish The Wall mission trip to Honduras in February. Please bring pillowcases, matching color double-fold bias tape, and 1/4″ elastic. We will also discuss other mission opportunities. All ladies of the church are encouraged to attend. If you have any questions please call Raquel.

FBC 101 Class

fbc 101 picCome join us for FBC 101 – Introduction to First Baptist Church of Weddington. At FBC 101 you will learn more about 1) First Baptist Church of Weddington doctrinal commitments, organization, and leadership; 2) biblical church membership; and 3) opportunities for you to connect in various ways in the life of the church. FBC 101 consists of three different sessions that last for one and one half hours each.

Our next class will begin on October 11th at 6 PM in room 214. The second session will be held on October 18th at 6 PM and the third session will be held on October 25th at 6 PM. If you have any questions, please see Pastor Sam.

Special Called Business Meeting

There will be a Special Called Business Meeting immediately following the morning service in the sanctuary on October 4, 2015 for the purpose of defining biblical marriage in the By-Laws and matters related there to.

Men’s Monthly Breakfast

All the men are invited to meet at Stacks Diner in Waxhaw on Thursday, September 24th, at 8:30 AM for breakfast. See Joe Pomykacz if you have questions.

Discipleship Training / GAs / RAs / Mission Friends

Discipleship Training will begin this Sunday, September 13th at 6 PM .  There are two classes being offered for adults.  Disciples Path and a two part study Jesus on Leadership: Developing Servant Leaders/Building Antioch: Your Role in a Transformational Church.  RAs, GAs and Mission Friends will also start back up this Sunday.  There will be a place for everyone in the family.  Don’t miss out!

Adult & Handbell Choir

Now is a good time to join the Adult Choir especially as they begin working on music for Christmas. Handbell Choir will begin this Sunday, September 13th from 5:00-5:50pm.  The Adult Choir rehearses each Wednesday night from 7:45-9:00pm.  See Pastor Edgar for more information.

Discipleship Training

Classes are held each Sunday night starting at 6 PM.  

This session we are offing two classes:

Study #1

  • Jesus on Leadership: Developing Servant Leaders (1st six weeks): This study focuses on applying biblical principles of servant leadership to develop church members into servant leaders.
  • Building Antioch: Your Role in a Transformational Church (2nd six weeks): This study builds on a laypersons role in the church to do their part to make their church a transformational church.  

Study #2

  • Disciples Path: This study is a series that provides biblical understandings, principles, and practices of discipleship.

Willow Oaks

Sunday, August 30th
4:30 – 6:00pm

Come join us for another Block Party in the Willow Oaks Community in Monroe.  We will have music, games and great fellowship.  If you would like to carpool, please meet at the church by 3:45pm.  We are also collecting school supplies which will be donated to the children in the community.

Live Broadcast Offline

The Sunday morning live broadcast of the service will be unavailable for the next several weeks. We will be able to continue to support the podcast and the posting of the video afterwards, but the service will not be available in real-time for the next few weeks.

Dan Pinkham’s Celebration Service

Dan Pinkham’s Celebration Service will be at First Baptist Church of Weddington on Saturday, August 22 at 11am.
The family will be honoring Dan’s desire for a private viewing for family on Friday, August 21 and a short private graveside service on Saturday morning, August 22.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cross Cultural Mission Endowment–Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina.
